Mr. Dancealot

In the video it appeared to me that the teacher did not know how to properly incorporate technology with teaching. So the central message of the video was that teachers need to learn how to properly incorporate technology with teaching. In my opinion when teaching dance, there are so many moves that a person needs to learn in order to know how to successfully accomplish that certain dance and this teacher hid behind the desk while showing the students the dance so there was no way they could see the correct moves. The author makes the case for the conclusion by giving the students a final exam on the dances he thought they were learning properly by showing them moves on a projector using power point. As we soon see, the students are dumb founded because the teacher failed to demonstrate the moves rather than just show them in writing on a projector. I agree with the conclusion because it shows that teachers should not only just use technology but also engage in how their students learn.

1.       Teaching collaboration with technology:
-         Strengthen project-based learning
-         Students become better team mates
-         Both teacher and student can connect using technology
2.      Educators are the filter for knowledge:
-         Some consider them sources but they aren't
-         Relate to what is being learned
-         Relate to the subject they are teaching
3.      Learning technology at a younger age:
-         Can be beneficial to both student and teachers
-         Can gain a lot information
-         Bettering the skills learned at a young age.
4.      Creating lessons:
-         Content match what exactly is being taught
-         Challenge student thinking
-         Interesting to both teacher and student
5.      Technology is not used for entertainment:
-         Could better be used for motivating students
-         No negative side

-         Teach that technology is helpful rather than the enemy

The video is a lot to take in but I think that network learning can be a great and useful tool for future learning. Although this is student and network based learning I think it is necessary to have a teacher present while the students are learning. The teacher is the one who actually teaches the student how to use the network to take advantage of new learning opportunities. Teachers are also needed so that the student can process the information and manage it in the right way. I think that it is very important to have a teacher present because even though the students are using network to learn by themselves it is equally important that they needed guidance.

Harness Your Student's Digital Smarts

The thesis in Davis' video is that incorporating technology in today's teaching styles can better our future students. It shows that once technology is put into context and taught in a positive way instead of negative that eventually students can outsmart the teachers. I think this is a great program and I hope that it continues to grow. I think this can be a positive way for teachers to interact with students more and make the content they are teaching more engaging and also it will help students interact with other students all over the world! Incredible!

Elementary students are definitely winning the race when it comes to learning. Even though I hate to say it Elementary grades are on the way to being as much or maybe even more educationally advanced as those in a colleges undergraduate and even graduate courses. I can honestly say that I am that I could probably be considered one of the last ones in the learning race. I am a slow learner when it comes to technology but I am slowly getting better with it and improving my skills. I think it is a good thing that our elementary grades are showing such improvement with technology because after they are the ones that will run the world one day and it excites me that they are going to be so advanced and knowledgeable.

the classroom is new for me. I am so used to the usual teacher sitting in front of the classroom teaching from the board and that's it. It is a lot to take in coming from someone who is so used to traditional ways but I think this could be the next greatest thing when it comes to learning individually. I think flipping the Classroom will be very useful as teacher because it gives students the extra leaning chances. It also gives teachers a break from standing in front of students all day and just talking. It gives teachers the chance to interact more with their students. Technology has come such a long way and it is only going to get better. Flipping the Classroom is a great idea not only for students but for teachers and parents as well! More ways of learning can only lead our students to success.

  1. Great job! A portion of your post is in a different font. If you need some help fixing this stop by the lab and let one of the lab assistants know.
